Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled across multiple apps, websites, and related digital services that I develop and operate. Because each product has different features, some apps do not collect or store personal information, while others process limited personal information required for functionality, account management, security, customer support, billing, synchronisation, and legal compliance. This policy is intended to provide a baseline notice across products and should be read together with any app-specific disclosures shown in onboarding screens, app store listings, and in-product notices.

1. Scope and Application

This policy applies to software applications, websites, and services operated by me, including versions distributed through third-party stores or platforms. It covers personal information provided by you, generated through your use of a service, or received from integrations you enable.

2. What Information May Be Collected

Collection varies by product. Some products are local-only and process data solely on your device. Where collection occurs, categories may include:

  • Account and contact details (for example, email address or account ID).
  • Technical data (device type, app version, diagnostics, and crash reports).
  • Transaction and subscription metadata required for billing and entitlement checks.
  • Support correspondence and information you submit when requesting assistance.
  • User content where a feature requires upload, synchronisation, or server processing.

3. Purposes of Processing

Personal information is processed only where reasonably necessary, including to:

  • Provide, maintain, and secure app features and services.
  • Authenticate users and manage subscriptions or purchases.
  • Diagnose faults, improve performance, and prevent misuse or fraud.
  • Respond to support queries and communicate important service updates.
  • Meet legal, regulatory, accounting, and security obligations.

4. Legal Bases (Where Required)

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, processing is conducted on one or more of the following grounds: performance of a contract, compliance with legal obligations, legitimate interests (including service security and reliability), and consent where consent is required.

5. Third-Party Providers and Integrations

Services may use third-party providers for infrastructure, analytics, authentication, messaging, payment processing, and subscription management. If you connect external integrations, information may be shared with those providers according to your settings and their terms. Third-party providers process data under their own privacy policies.

6. Disclosure of Personal Information

Personal information may be disclosed where necessary to operate services, fulfil your requests, process payments, enforce terms, investigate abuse, or comply with law. Disclosure may also occur as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or asset transfer, subject to applicable legal requirements.

7. Data Retention

Retention periods depend on product function and legal obligations. Information is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy and may then be deleted, de-identified, anonymised, or aggregated, unless longer retention is required by law.

8. Security Measures

Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect personal information, including access controls, monitoring, and encryption in transit where appropriate. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, but safeguards are designed to reduce risk and respond to incidents promptly.

9. International Transfers

Services and providers may operate in multiple jurisdictions. Personal information may therefore be processed outside your country of residence. Where required, reasonable steps and contractual safeguards are used to protect transferred information.

10. Your Privacy Rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have rights to:

  • Request access to personal information held about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate or out-of-date information.
  • Request deletion, where retention is no longer required.
  • Object to or restrict certain types of processing.
  • Withdraw consent for optional processing where consent is the legal basis.

11. California Privacy Rights

California residents may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including rights to know, access, correct, and delete personal information, and to limit use of sensitive personal information where applicable. I do not sell personal information and do not knowingly share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising as those terms are defined by applicable law.

12. Australian Privacy Rights and Disclosures

For Australian users, this policy is intended to align with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), including the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), where applicable. In particular:

  • APP 1: this policy explains personal information handling practices in an open and transparent way.
  • APP 12 and APP 13: you may request access to, and correction of, personal information held about you.
  • APP 8: where disclosure to overseas recipients occurs, reasonable steps are taken to protect information.
  • Notifiable Data Breaches scheme: if an eligible data breach occurs, notifications are made as required.

If you are not satisfied with a privacy response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), subject to applicable complaint procedures.

13. Children's Privacy

Services are not directed to children where parental consent is required by law, unless specifically stated. If you believe personal information from a child has been collected without required consent, contact me and appropriate action will be taken.

14. Product-Specific Notices

Because this policy applies across multiple apps, product-specific notices may provide additional details on permissions, data categories, storage, and retention. If there is a conflict, the product-specific notice applies to that product to the extent permitted by law.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be amended from time to time to reflect service changes, legal developments, or updated security practices. Material changes will be notified by appropriate means, such as an update on this page, in-app notice, or app store disclosure. The "Last updated" date shows when this version took effect.

16. Contact and Complaints

For privacy enquiries, rights requests, or complaints, contact hello@efalloon.com and include the app or service name and sufficient detail for review. This policy is general information and does not constitute independent legal advice.
